Head of Brand Voice and Igniter at Simon Sinek Inc. (Start With Why)

I don’t care about business, I care about people.

Ever worry about growing old? Stephen Shedletzky welcomes the future with open arms.

“I measure my age in how many more years I have left to contribute. Doing so gives me patience and perspective.”

Stephen’s first priority is to his family: to be the best father, husband, sibling and son that he can be. Success, for him, is raising children who are proud of themselves and who he is proud of, and being a parent to service-oriented children who give to the world they live in.

After being introduced to Simon Sinek’s work, Stephen recognized his own ideals reflected in the organization. “I wanted to create a world in which the vast majority of people feel inspired and safe at work, and return home fulfilled.”

Working with Simon as Head of Brand Voice, Stephen is committed to doing anything that helps to advance a more inspired world. “We work with organizations of all shapes, sizes and industries. We focus our efforts on the leaders who care to adopt a purpose-first and people-first mindset.”

Living by his “WHY”, Stephen wants to engage with people in meaningful ways so that we connect with depth and live in a more fulfilled world. “I don’t care about business, I care about people.”

Since today’s society in North America is heavily focused on work, where people spend over 90 thousand hours of their lives in their jobs, Stephen wants to bring the most joy into that part of life as possible. “If we can change their work, we can change their lives.”

“There is no better feeling than getting feedback from clients that their life has greater meaning because of what we’ve helped them do.”

Stephen is creating a world in which work is a place where people can grow and feel inspired. “I am doing this so that when my kids get their first job, they will feel that they are a part of something bigger, where their gifts and strengths are being nurtured.”

With a motto of helping people help themselves grow, Stephen is living a life of purpose and meaning, and hopes to bring those same ideals into the lives of those around him.

“At the end of the day, I’m really working on just being a good human being.”

1. Milk: 2% or skim because my 3 year old prefers it 😉
2. Night owl or early bird depends on my flight time
3. Fame or Fortune Means more to me to be known for something. Leave a legacy that inspires.
4. Early or fashionably late Not my preference, just too often happens that way
5. Useless talent? Barefooting – skiing without skis

Stephen Shedletzky is a born and bred Torontonian. He studied business at Western University’s Ivey Business School, and now works with Simon Sinek as Head of Brand Voice and an Igniter, inspiring others to find and live their “WHY”.
