Meet Marny Florence

“I like being the ‘talent’. I love being hired for ‘Marny!’”

Marny Florence gravitates towards big crowds and bright lights, and absolutely shines on stage. She is best at being one thing, and that is herself.

Marny has been dancing since she was four years old. Dance has since brought her into incredible new experiences. She has recently choreographed for CTV, performed in the opening and closing ceremonies of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games, danced on tour with Cineplex, performed at this year’s MMVA’s, worked as a magician’s assistant, and has even been featured on Disney Channel.

Dancing and MCing for Magen Boys Entertainment, teaching Zumba, choreographing shows, and working the red carpet at TIFF are all part of Marny’s weekly ventures. She loves meeting new people and experiencing new things whenever she can, and Marny looks forward to seeing what her future holds.

“Meeting people is everything. You never know what connection can lead you into a new experience.” Just from meeting one person, Marny was featured in the Alessia Cara “Scars to Your Beautiful” music video. Marny is now a Cheerleader and Choreographer for the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Team, performing at home games at the Air Canada Centre because of one connection.

“I like being the ‘talent’. I love being hired for ‘Marny!’” Her dancing skills, personal connections with others, and outgoing personality have given her opportunities other people only dream of.

Her current success has Marny thinking about what lies ahead. “I don’t know what I’m going to do as a career in the future. I get nervous because all of my jobs right now are very youthful and physical. I know I can’t do these things forever, but I’m also hopeful that by continuing to make connections and meet people I will find my way.”

For the meantime, Marny leads her life with positivity and kindness. “I believe in doing things that makes you happy, being bold and putting yourself out there. Meet awesome new people, find awesome new experiences, and be the awesome person you are.”
