Meet Ariella Sibony

“The goal of photography is to appreciate with your eyes and capture moments. You want to hold on to a specific second longer than it exists.”

When the sun shines on something just the right way, Ariella is there to capture the moment and make it transcend time.

“The goal of photography is to appreciate with your eyes and capture moments. You want to hold on to a specific second longer than it exists.”

Photography gives Ariella the opportunity to bring the small details of life that often go unnoticed into focus. “It’s about drawing people’s attention to nature and its beauty.”

In our busy lives, we look at the world around us but we don’t always really see it. Ariella’s work reminds us of the magnificence surrounding us in even the most ordinary of places.

“Nature in Toronto is beautiful. There are so many parks, and so much wildlife. When I started taking pictures, I realized I was able to convey the ordinary beauty through a lens, and it really inspired me.”

“There’s something amazing about siting in High Park and just being away from the noise and traffic. You forget you’re in a big city. It’s so perfect for focusing on photography.”

Ariella’s photography comes with a mission. “I hope my photos inspire people. Whether it’s to attend to the environment and be kinder to it to appreciate the little things and the world we live in, or even just to bring a smile to their faces.”

Every photo Ariella takes carries an underlying message. The beauty the photos showcase reminds us of our responsibility to look after the world we’ve been given. “We must respect the world we live in because it is what sustains us as human beings. Why shouldn’t we respect nature as we’re told to respect one another as people?”

Ariella explains that Judaism promotes the celebration and preservation of the world’s beauty. “I feel like it is our duty as people, furthermore as Jewish people to take care of the world that we live in.”

Ariella has extended her love of capturing special moments into her photography business. Specializing in nature photography, AriTova Photography offers photoshoots and event photography as well. Her photos are available for purchase through her website.
