Out of the Cold: House Edition

A SOCIAL ACTION EVENT

Warm Clothes. Warm Beds. Warm Meals. Warm Hearts.

This is what Out of the Cold provides to guests each week. On two of the coldest Mondays of the year, The House adds delicious dessert and uplifting connection to make the evening something special.

On January 28th and February 4th, The House is partnering with Out of the Cold, a volunteer program which provides overnight accommodation, a warm meal and on-site health care to Toronto’s vulnerable. After participants receive a filling meal, House volunteers will treat the evening’s guests to fine desserts, live music accompaniment, and engaging conversation to make set apart this Monday from others at Out of the Cold.
While it is obvious and necessary for people’s basic needs to be met, showing someone extra compassion (by providing delicious delicacies and enjoyable entertainment) can help elevate the feeling of self-worth, leaving all involved with a sweet aftertaste that can positively change lives.
