Summer Position – Special Events Coordinator (2 positions available)

Job Title: Special Events Coordinator
Hourly Wage Rate: $17.00
Number of Weeks: 8
Number of Hours per Week: 35.00

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Special Events Coordinator (SEC) will be responsible for coordinating details for JEDx – the community’s annual learning festival that usually has an in-person attendance of 1,000 people during the evening event, and that had 550 people attend the virtual event in 2020 (as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic). In 2021, the SEC will work on developing content and event logistics for a dozen content workshops happening during the event, whether in-person or virtually, to be determined. The SEC will also work on event content directly.
- Managing project timelines
- Developing and managing an event budget
- Delegating and managing team members and volunteers
- Securing logistics details including rentals, a/v, food, guest speakers, etc.,
- Managing guest lists and participant inquiries
- Working with a database to track participants
- Implementing a post-event survey
- Measuring key performance indicators against organizational and project goals
- Executing a follow-up plan with key volunteers and program attendees
- Using video conferencing and meeting platforms to conduct pre-event and event meetings
