Danielle Rovinsky

Danielle Rovinski is a Counselling Social Worker at the downtown branch of Jewish Family &
Child where she provides individual, couple and family therapy in addition to financial
assistance for impoverished and low-income clients in the downtown core.
Danielle obtained her Masters of Social Work at The Wurzweiler School of Social Work, at
Yeshiva University in Manhattan New York. During her educational career, she served as a
student Social Worker in the Clinical Metabolic and Genetics Unit and the Newborn screening
team at SickKids Hospital, as well as a community outreach worker for victims of human
trafficking and substance abuse at All Saints Community Centre, in Toronto’s Regent Park.
After graduating, Danielle held the position of addictions counsellor at Ingles House, LOFT
Community Services, and as an individual and family therapist at East Metro Youth Service’s
What’s Up Walk In.
In addition to her current role at JF&CS, Danielle provides student counselling support at Royal
St. George College, and maintains a private practice. Her diverse experiences have enhanced her
practice at Jewish Family & Child as a mental health counsellor, service provider and advocate.

Abi Roach is the owner of HotBox Lounge + Shop, HotBox Brands, HotBox Homegrown Hydroponics, Hotbox Jamaica Bud & Breakfast. Publisher of Spliff Magazine & a director of the CFBA (Cannabis Friendly Business Association) She has been in the Cannabis lifestyle & tourism industry for near to 20 years. Abi has dedicated her life to the freedom of cannabis consumers and the normalization and now legalization of cannabis





Ari Unterman is TerrAscend’s Director of Operations and Legal Counsel. He is  a corporate lawyer with experience in corporate and technology law. He has also participated in entrepreneurial and start up ventures, including supporting an early stage legal technology startup. His role at TerrAscend focuses on general commercial and securities law, regulatory analysis and execution of the Company’s business strategy. Ari obtained his BA in Political Science at Western University and his JD/MBA at the University of Windsor.



Dean Simon is an HR professional with 10 years of progressive experience, spanning multiple industries. Currently, Dean is a Program Manager at CIBC within the Human Resources team where he is responsible for the development and implementation of talent acquisition initiatives. Prior to joining CIBC, he spent time at Deloitte, Corus Entertainment and Advanced Micro Devices where he held various HR Generalist roles.  Dean is a graduate of the Human Resources Management program at York University and an active member of the HRPA York Region chapter where he leads several sections of the NKE exam preparation course.



Jessica Firestone is an associate in McCarthy Tétrault’s Litigation Group in Toronto. She maintains a general litigation practice, including commercial litigation and professional liability matters. Jessica assists McCarthy’s core cannabis practice team to advise clients on the legalization and regulation of recreational cannabis, and the practical implications these are having on clients’ businesses. She is also a member of McCarthy’s government law group and has, in particular, written in the areas of lobbying and election laws.

Jessica received her JD from Queen’s University where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List and received the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP Prize in Civil Procedure and the Queen’s Law Prize in Queen’s Business Law Clinic. While at Queen’s, she was a Caseworker for the Queen’s Business Law Clinic and an Associate Editor of the Queen’s Law Journal.

Prior to law school, Jessica earned a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and graduated on the Dean’s Honour List with the Dr. M. Richard Gelfand Prize in Marketing. She then worked in the headquarters of Target Canada as a business analyst.
